Dan Carrington was born on 20 May 1730 in New Haven, Connecticut.3 He was the son of Daniel Carrington and Hannah Tuttle.1,2 He married Eleanor Killam, daughter of Daniel Killiam and Mary ?, on 16 January 1752 in Woodbridge, Connecticut.4,5 He began military service in the French and Indian War in 1756. He was in the First Company of the Third Regiment commanded by Col. Nathan Whiting of New Haven.6 He died on 8 May 1771 in New Haven at age 40.7 His estate was probated in 1772 in New Haven.8
