     Mary Bacon was also known as Polly Bacon. She was born on 12 April 1738 in Barnstable, Massachusetts.2 She was the daughter of Ebenezer Bacon and Lydia Lothrop.1 She married Benajah Strong, son of Lt. Jedediah Strong and Elizabeth Webster, on 13 April 1758 in Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut.3,4 She and Benajah Strong moved to Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont where they were some of the first settlers, along with Strong brothers Solomon and Elijah.5 She died on 8 August 1790 in Hartford at age 52.6,7
