William (4) Makepeace "He removed from Taunton to Norton, probably about April 1, 1727, for we find a deed, dated March 22, 1726, from Nicholas Morey to William Makepeace, Jr., 'of Taunton,' of one hundred and sixty acres of land, for three hundred pounds. This land was 'at a place called Fooseberry Meadow, and lyeth on both sides of a River called the Mill River.'" He was born circa 1704 in Taunton.¹ He was the son of William (3) Makepeace and Abigail Tisdale. He married Experience Aldrich, daughter of Peter Aldrich and Experience Cook, on 14 January 1723/24 in Norton.^2,3 He died on 15 April 1740 in Norton.
