     Elizabeth Tilley was baptized on 30 August 1607 in Henlow, Bedfordshire, England.2,3,4 She was the daughter of John Tilley and Joan Hurst Rogers.1 She immigrated with her parents aboard the Mayflower in 1620 to Plymouth Colony.1 In 1621 Elizabeth Tilley was left an orphan after the death of her father and mother during the first winter, as well as her uncle Edward Tilley and his wife Ann. She was taken in by the Governor John Carver household which included a servant, John Howland. When Governor Carver and his wife died in the spring of 1621, Howland inherited their estate.4,1 She married John Howland, son of Henry Howland and Margaret (?), on 25 March 1623 in Plymouth Colony.1 As of 25 March 1623, her married name was Howland.1 She died on 21 December 1687 in Swansea at age 80. She was buried in Ancient Little Neck Cemetery, East Providence, Rhode Island. She was living with her daughter Lydia Howland Brown at the time of her death, and was buried in the Brown family plot.5
